Day 13: Galilee

Beit Sh'ean Tel.
We got to sleep in (6:30AM!) and after breakfast, we got on the bus to go to Beit Sh’ean, another dig site with a Tel that we climbed. We went to Belvoir – a crusader fortress built out of black basalt at the top of a very tall mountain. We ate lunch there and then wandered around the fortress. True to its name, it had a beautiful view.

After Belvoir, we attempted to go see the ancient boat that was uncovered when Galilee receeded some – this was not successful as it was closed.
Then we stopped at a community swimming hole for those who wished to swim (I did not).
We got back to the Hostel at 5:00 and after a relaxing dinner, we got taxis into Tiberias and all met at a pub called “Petra” where we all had a grand time.

We were back at the hostel at 1:00.  Before going to bed, I sat out on the swing with Ken, the older diver with the hairy {?-I have no memory of this} nose, and went to bed around 2:00AM.
